Price Controls Extended Affect Nebraska Cattle Industry

Congress extends price controls through June under the Defarise Production Act. OPS bans slaughter quotas but considers reinstating them to prevent black markets and ensure fair meat distribution. Beefs price rollbacks were canceled and a Capehart Amendment allows passing labor and overhead costs to consumers up to July 26.

Nelson family holds 17th annual reunion in Stromsburg

The Nelsons gathered August 5 in Stromsburg for their 17th annual family reunion with 80 relatives from multiple Nebraska towns and Audubon Iowa and St Paul Minnesota. One death, one marriage and six births were reported. Honored guests were C P Nelson 91 Nellie Peterson 88 and T J Nelson 82. Officers elected for 1952 included Albert Nelson as President and Earl Steever as Secretary and Treasurer.
