Youths Die In CCC Truck Crash At York
Leonard Shepherd a 19 year old from Lyons Nebraska died after a CCC truck carrying 11 youths went into a ditch in York Minnesota. Two others died earlier and two were improving Edward Dove 18 Norton Kansas and Glen Campbell 19 Rule Nebraska survived. Killed outright were Robert Nelson 17 Winnebago Nebraska and Walter Vincent 18 York Nebraska. Investigations began by the soil conservation commission and the army overseeing the camp project.

Soil Conservation Tour Planned in Butler County August 10
The Soil Conservation Service with the state college of agriculture in Butler County will hold an all day tour of soil conservation projects on August 10. It starts at 9 30 a m from the Ulysses State Bank in Ulysses. Agricultural Agent Kelly says the tour benefits all interested in preventing erosion and preserving soil fertility.
