Seniors Enjoy Sneak Day Trip From Polk To Omaha
The Seniors’ annual Sneak Day on Friday April 23 began with a 4 30 a m bus ride from Polk to Wahoo for breakfast at 6 30. They visited Boys Town the Union Pacific museum and the school for the deaf then toured the baggage room sleeping car and an escalator at Union Station before returning to Polk midnight.

Injuries Fatal to Minnesota Tourist Ed Tapley
Ed Tapley 77 retired Staples storekeeper died early Friday at Stromsburg Hospital from chest injuries after a two vehicle crash on Highway 81 five miles south of Stromsburg. He was solo in a car returning from California to Minnesota when it collided with a truck driven by Floyd Farley. Farley treated and discharged for shock and bruises. Tapley’s relatives from Stromsburg arranged burial.

Youth Rally Draws 200 Plus in Osceola
More than 200 youths from Hastings District attended the Methodist Youth Fellowship spring rally at Osceola High School. The event featured song, recreation, worship, and a candlelight service. Neb Wesleyan choir from Osceola and guests Leroy Yanney Amy Barber performed. John Healy spoke. Nebraska Wesleyan was founded in Osceola.
