Polking Around By Charles Wolverton
The writer recalls Kansas farm life and contrasts it with modern mechanized farming, pondering soil health, self sufficiency, and the social shifts from rural abundance. He reflects on English and European farming history, wonder about long term soil fertility, and questions whether today’s agricultural advances will endure a thousand years.
