Nebraska's Easter Seal Child Jo Ella Stromberg will appear on Channel 5 Hastings Spotlight program Thursday April 24 at 5 20 P M detailing her work and life with Easter Seals in Nebraska.
Kay Nielsen was named among University of Nebraska students honored at a special Convocation recognizing those in the top 10 percent of their classes. Actress Judith Anderson participated in Shakespeare readings marking the Centennial celebration. Parents of the honorees, including Supt. and Mrs Walter Nielsen, received special invitations.
A miscellaneous bridal shower honoring Connie Jones was held at the Dean Myers home on Saturday April 5. Guests included former classmates and friends who enjoyed games visiting and watching Connie open gifts. Lunch was served by Lynda Sundberg Dee Rahrs Alice Willits and Fern Myers.
Sunday afternoon visitors and lunch guests at the Ed Coover home included Mr Roy Miller and Mrs Ruth Klingsman of York along with Mr and Mrs Elwood Sandell and Mr and Mrs Reuben Hanquist who later attended a Gideon Rally in Sutton on Saturday evening.
Pvt. Eddie Johnson suffered a flesh wound when a mortar shell hit the camp at Vin Kin while the company slept. Three Americans were killed and 16 wounded. Eddie was moved to a hospital at Dong Than. He is the son of Mr and Mrs Harlan Johnson.
Mrs Lawrence Sundberg of Rockford Illinois died Monday afternoon April 21 after a week in hospital. Funeral services are set for Thursday afternoon in Rockford with burial in local cemetery.
