Hastings College Leader to Speak at Polk All-Sports Banquet

Dr. Lynn Farrell athletic director head basketball coach and associate professor of physical education at Hastings College will be the Polk All-Sports Banquet speaker this Saturday evening in the high school auditorium. Afterward the program opens to the public for speeches and the 1969 All-Sports King and Queen presentation.

Wounded in Vietnam Sergeant Branting Is Reported Wounded

Mr and Mrs Marvin Branting received a telegram from the Secretary of the Army announcing that their son Sergeant Leslie W Branting was wounded in Vietnam on April 3 during combat operations. He sustained a wound to the right knee and will be returned to duty.

Polk Community Club Meeting Focuses on Disaster Safety

The Polk Community Club gathers Monday April 21 at 8:00 P M in the Community Hall. A Red Cross representative will discuss disaster and safety precautions, with additional entertainment numbers on the program.
