Stromsburg CC Adds $242 To Bedient Fund
The Stromsburg Commercial Club raffled a quarter of beef donated by Orville Dodds and added 242.01 dollars to the Warren Bedient Fund. Also 10 dollars from Lyle Cockle of Stromsburg Cleaners were included. Checks were presented to the Polk Community Club by Bob Berggren and Lyle. The Modern Millies Extension Club contributed 55 dollars from a Stanley Party. A 5 dollar check from Myrtle Erin was also included.

Senior Home Ec Girls Attend Hospitality Days
Five Polk High School senior Home Ec students joined Miss Clabaugh at the University of Nebraska Hospitality Days on April 18. They watched a gazebo centered fashion show, toured the Child Development Laboratory with preschoolers, viewed Home Management Houses, visited the C. Thompson Library, and ended the day at the campus ice cream parlor before returning for the Junior-Senior Banquet.

Polk Rates Well In Goldenrod Conference Music Contest
Polk hosted the Goldenrod Conference Music Contest on April 14 with nearly 800 students present. Of Polk’s 22 entries 72.2 percent received superior or excellent ratings. Participants earning top scores included bands choir glee clubs ensembles and solos such as Dawn Kil lion Becky Stevens Gail Widga and Dianna Green. District Contest at Hastings College on April 24 offers another 100 percent superiors opportunity.
