Polk County 4 H Public Speaking Contestants

Miss Penny Swanson won the Polk County Public Speaking Contest and will represent Polk County at the District Public Speaking Contest in Fremont on May 7. Betty Morris was the senior rival with Banishing Bandage Blues, while Roger Carlson led the junior division with New Day in Farming.

North Blue Doings Speak of Weddings and Visitors

A long list of community events notes baptisms, anniversaries, open houses, and family visits across Hampton and surrounding towns. Jeffrey Lynn Warneke was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran with relatives as guests. Louis and Kay Bamesberger marked a silver wedding anniversary with open house. numerous visits and dinners involve Warneke, Stankel, Dose, Johnson, Stunkel, and other local families across Hampton, York, Meadow Grove, and Stromsburg. Arlyce Lind Earns University All State Music Clinic

Arlyce Lind, Polk High senior and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Lind, is accepted to attend the University All State High School Clinic Music Division from June 12 to 30. She will participate in band chorus small ensembles and music appreciation. Mr. and Mrs. Trof Ostberg and Patricia Ostberg joined Mr. and Mrs. Harold Miller and Karen for Sunday dinner and lunch at Arcadia.
