Born in 1907, the town of Polk grew from land bought from Cass Mc Connell and Victor Anderson. Early leaders included Dr. D. H. Westfall and others. First school was above Anderson Furniture, with churches organized in 1873 1881 1895 and 1899 before moving to Polk. Polk claims two miles of paved streets and is the county's youngest town.
