Miss Dorothy Jean Ehn wed Chester J. Johnson in a Sunday April 23 ceremony at the First Methodist church Central City. Rev. Dawson Park officiated at 7 00 p.m. The couple plans to reside in Grand Island.

Home Society Elects Officers at Wednesday Meeting

The Home Society met at Mrs Mabel Benjamin's home to elect officers with Mrs Jake Harding reelected president and Mrs Will Kroger secretary and treasurer. Mrs Earl Rasmussen and Mrs Ea Shenk were chosen for the card committee. Thirteen members and three visitors attended for an afternoon with lunch.

Frances Elge of Lincoln married Gordon Glad of Polk in a Saturday ceremony at Sheridan Blvd. Baptist Church Lincoln Nebraska with about 150 guests. Rev. The couple plans to farm near Polk after a short honeymoon. bride wore white satin gown with lace details. going away outfit was a light navy suit.

Royal Neighbors Meet at Hardville Hall

The Royal Neighbors gathered at Hardville Hall on Thursday afternoon with seventeen members present. Oracle Clover Jones led the meeting. Marie Krug of Central City demonstrated Stanley products. District Deputy Esther Gage attended as an afternoon guest. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Earl Rasmussen and Mrs. Ella Shenk.

Women from Pork Woman's Club Tour Omaha

A raincoat clad group from the Pork Woman's Club toured Omaha visiting Boys Town and its trade building field house and chapel. They admired the Joselyn Memorial, toured Paxton and Gallagher, learned coffee making at Butlerut, and visited the Nebraska School for the Deaf, Roberts milk plant, then enjoyed supper and shopping downtown before returning home.

Mr and Mrs Arlo Stevens entertained over 40 relatives for a birthday gathering honoring their sons Gary and Gaylord. Poppies Sold By Veterans Aid Thousands Along Street

More than twenty million poppies made by disabled veterans are sold on streets under supervision of the American Legion Auxiliary on Saturday May 6 by about 100 000 volunteer workers who receive no pay. The Auxiliary Poppy Program through the Legion pays over $100 000 annually to needy and disabled service men and women for making the poppies.

Pleasant Homemakers 4-H Club Holds Arbor Day Meeting

The Pleasant HomeMakers 4-H Club held its third meeting on Arbor Day with Pin Oak donated by Aksarben. Led by Mrs. Irvin Anderson and Mrs. Lloyd Hahn, seven members and five visitors planted the tree at the school lawn. The group recited Trees, sang, heard planting stories, and learned burn care, nosebleed, and cut treatment demonstrations. They voted to donate $3 to Salvation Army Red Cross and Crippled Children Fund. A deli lunch followed, then games. Next meeting set for May 26 at the Hill home.

Sixth District Black and White Show at Polk County Fairgrounds

The Sixth Nebraska District Show of Holstein breeders will be held at the Polk County Fairgrounds in Osceola on Friday May 5. Exhibitors from 13 central Nebraska counties will display cattle aimed at improving breeding. judging emphasizes best traits rather than prizes. The Osceola Chamber of Commerce provides coffee at noon and Roberts Darry supplies ice cream for a noon picnic dinner.

The senior class play The Old Home Town drew a large audience Friday evening in the school auditorium.
