Double Funeral Held in Hampton for Mrs Paben and Granddaughter
Services were held Tuesday at the English Lutheran church in Hampton for Mrs Ben Paben and her granddaughter Sharon Ann Kaeding two year old daughter of Mr and Mrs Ernest Kaeding of Aurora. Mrs Paben died Saturday morning and Sharon Ann died later at Aurora Hospital. Mrs Paben had lived in Polk and Hampton for years and is mother of Mrs Kaeding. Four daughters and four sons survive. Burial followed in Aurora Cemetery.

Pre-Contest Program Draws Large Polk High Crowd
Rainy conditions did not deter a packed Polk High School Auditorium audience for the Pre-Contest program by Polk School music classes. The evening featured vocal and instrumental solos, Girls Glee Club, Senior Band, and a Rhythm Band novelty from grade school pupils, running over two hours with multiple encores. Directed by S A Ramp with Hazel Nelson, Arthur Bates, and Corrine Carlson as accompanists. The Grade Operetta The Early Bird Catches the Worm set for April fifth and the Senior Play for May 4th.
