Mrs George Reeb, 80, wife of Polk's oldest citizen George Reeb, died at her Polk home Monday morning. Survivors include her husband, two sons Harold of Los Angeles and Henry of Polk, and three daughters Mrs Victor Kerker of Los Angeles, Mrs Lewis Blase of Heardville, and Mrs Will Gurling of Polk.

Polk High notes reveal Junior Class party in the new gym Friday. A Columbus track meet was held Wednesday April 16 with another invitational slated for next Tuesday at Central City. Reports’ cards issued this week reflect six weeks left in the school year. A large crowd attended the pre contest program Tuesday evening. An epidemic of three lay measles sweeps the school. The Pep Clubs traded the old electric scoreboard for a newer Naden board installed in the gym with a lighted clock and red end-of-period lights.

The senior class led by Miss Andersen started at 5:00 a m on Thursday April 10 with breakfast in Wahoo and a visit to Boys Town. They toured the chapel dormitories and trades classrooms then viewed the fire department and rescue equipment. They rode elevators at WOW and listened in on a broadcast, visited the school for the deaf, Union Pacific Museum, and watched transcontinental planes from the airport observation tower. Some students rode in a plane. Evening free time included supper and a Shrine Circus show before returning to the Fontenelle Hotel and home. Gratitude was expressed to Mrs Gilbert Benson Ray Werner Richard Cremer and Leland Bilis for transportation.

Miss Norah Mae Cline and Gordon D Johnson were wed on a Saturday April 1 in Lincoln. Rev Paul Porter officiated before 24 relatives at the couple’s home with Easter lilies as backdrop. The bride wore aqua and black, attended by Hilla Knobel. Leo Soderholm served as best man. A two course luncheon followed. The bride, Polk high school 1940 graduate, worked at Lincoln Telephone. groom served four and a half years in the Pacific as an airplane mechanic and works at Elgin Watch. They plan to live at 1117 L St Apt 7 Lincoln after a short wedding trip. Out-of-town guests included several Lincoln and Alliance residents.
