Radiosonde Found On Vergil Bush Farm In Polk Vicinity
Vergil Bush found a radiosonde in his pasture last Thursday morning, believed first in the area. The instrument released from North Platte on April 1 traveled about 10 hours to Polk, landing at 10 AM after a balloon burst at sixteen miles. The device relays temperature, pressure and humidity data for weather forecasting.

Army Private Moomey Stationed in Alaska at Fort Richardson
Pfc Robert Moomey and his wife Charlotte of Route 1 Polk are stationed at Fort Richardson Alaska. He entered the Army in February 1953 and arrived in Alaska a month ago from Fort Devens Massachusetts. He is a former York College student.
