A local birth announced for Mr and Mrs Walter Griffen a daughter born Saturday April 2 weighing eight and a half pounds. Merle LaVelle visited Osceola Tuesday afternoon. School staff and pupils prepare for a Polk High Spring Vacation next week. Various residents and visitors are noted including dinners and Sunday visits with family in Osceola Clifton area. Local family visits across Nebraska towns over weekend

Mr and Mrs Merle Watts of Osceola visited their in laws Mr and Mrs Will Steele on Sunday. Clifford Carlson of York and wife visited her parents Mr and Mrs Henry Shostrom. They called on Lloyd Lind and visited Mr and Mrs Will Kroger and Mrs Hennie Seymour in Omaha. On returning home they saw Mr and Mrs Otto Kroger in Schuyler. Howard Herbes and Martha Westfall visited Grand Island Saturday. Karl Detloff and wife stayed weekend with daughter Mrs Fred Barchett and husband in Lincoln. Charles Smith of Bradshaw joined Theo Stevens on Sunday. J G Felton and Jimmie of Utica visited Lawrence Sundberg Saturday afternoon.

Hordville residents Mr and Mrs Kenneth Sayles LaVone and Mrs Arthur Erickson with Angeline of Racine Wisconsin spent last week visiting. The Junior class will present the play When Jane Takes a Hand Friday evening April 8 at the high school auditorium. Raymond Erickson returned to Racine after weeks visiting his parents. Lee Holmes of Omaha visited his parents in Hordville. Will Cohagan and Lois visited in Grand Island. L P Jones of Grand Island visited Gustafsons.
