Fontenelle chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution met at the home of Mrs. Frank R. Gobelman to plan the district conference on Saturday September 16 at the First Presbyterian church with luncheon. Dr. Luther M. Kuhns of Omaha will speak on the United States constitution. Committee chairmen named include Americanization Mrs G B Mann National Defense and Patriotic Education Mrs E H Wescott and many others. Refreshments were served.

The Iowa Nebraska Light and Power company will pay a 3 percent federal tax on gross electric energy sales, costing about 85000 dollars yearly. Wild Dogs Menace La Platte Area Prompted by Muzzling Order
Packs of wild dogs have attacked livestock and people near La Platte, north of the city. Sheriff orders muzzling or tying up all local dogs as residents hunt the beasts along the Platte river bank. The outbreak has caused cattle losses and fear, with several dogs killed and a suspected female leader being sought.
