Funeral of David Wallengren Sunday
Funeral services for the late David Wallengren were held Sunday at 2 30 p m at Sattler funeral home with a large attendance. Dr H G McClusky pastor of the First Presbyterian church led the service and offered a message of hope. Frank A Cloidt sang two numbers In the Sweet Bye and Bye and In the Garden. The body was laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery beside his wife with pallbearers C A Johnson John H Hallstrom A R Johnson Charles Anthes T E Olson and A G Johnson among the old friends and neighbors serving.

Truck stolen from Mullen & Sons recovered on ferry road
A Mullen and Sons meat and grocers truck was stolen from North Fourth street just after 2 am and found hours later in a ditch off the old ferry road southeast of the city. Officer Pickrell spotted the unlit vehicle and the driver fled. tire failure caused the ditching.

A Friendship Hour at Methodist Church Opens Series

Mrs Elizabeth Gardner Dies After Lincoln Hospital Stay
Mrs Elizabeth Gardner widow of Fred Gardner died Saturday evening at a Lincoln hospital after weeks in serious condition following her husband's death. Her body was brought to Sattler funeral home for services Tuesday at 2 o clock. She is survived by a sister Mrs E A Billinger of Morrill Nebraska and several nieces.

Plattsmouth fire department led by Chief Dr. O Sandin heads to North Platte for the Nebraska State Firemen's Convention opening today. Delegates Herb Schutz W D McCrary Louis Lohnes and Fred Sharpnack join Dr Sandin as head of the delegation. The gathering draws volunteers to discuss firefighting challenges and city protection. Old resident Mrs. Julia Thomas of Omaha reports the death in Philadelphia of former Cass County official Mrs. J W Jennings formerly Miss Mollie Robinson of this city. Jennings served as Cass County clerk in the early eighties and later moved to Atchison, Kansas where he ran an abstract business. Mrs Jennings died while visiting a daughter. she leaves three daughters and a son, three sons having died earlier.

Plattsmouth Men Injured in Auto Smashup
Four Plattsmouth men returning from O street grading near Elmwood were severely injured when a Farmer's Co-Operative Co. truck struck their Ford sedan. Frank Godwin drove, Merritt Patton sat front, Earl Leesley and George Moreland rear. Leesley suffered three broken ribs and head lacerations. Moreland a forehead gash and rib injury. Patton a back wrench and facial cut. all were treated at Elmwood area facilities before transfer for further care.

Young Worker Injured By Falling Dirt On Highway Job
Charlies Forbes, engaged in grading on highway No. 24 near Elmwood, suffered severe injuries when a 300 pound dirt chunk fell from an elevator grader. He sustained a scalp wound, facial injuries, a broken head area, and back and shoulder trauma. He was brought to the city for treatment and is not expected to resume work soon.
