Orrin C. Smith born in Abington Illinois in 1850 died after a severe pleurisy attack. He lived in Plattsmouth for years, then moved to Havelock about twelve years ago. TM M Beal who sold his residence decided to stay and bought the house once occupied by Hingo Assmissen. Assmissen moves Tuesday and Beal plans repainting and redecorating to create a cozy home. Assmissen will then occupy Sharpe's Graite street house.
R R McElwain's brother in Los Angeles writes of a good job with American Tobacco and trouble from a street car strike. He describes rioting near the workplace, with an acquaintance killed the day before, and staying indoors after work.
Mir Rihater Prague, a Bohemian Turner representative, departed Omaha on Sunday afternoon as a large crowd gathered at Union station to wish him well. About sixty friends rode the train part way to Plattsmouth, then joined a victory ring before the train left. After departure, the group went to Sokol hall for athletic performances, four races, and a lively sendoff lasting until dark.
A large party of friends and neighbors gathered at J. R. Rumberfield’s home on his 52d birthday weekend without his knowledge. The event featured games, social talk, and a three course luncheon, with guests offering long life wishes and prosperity for years to come. Attendees included J. C. York and family, Mrs. Brady and family, Uncle Peter Gass, A. B. Taylor and wife, Mr. Wentzel and wife, Robert Brissey and wife, Mr. Peoples and wife, and Mrs. Welch and daughter.

Jesse Godwin lost control of a carriage when a tug unhitched near the Parmele barn Monday afternoon by the Masonic Home. The dash was pulled loose, Godwin was ejected, and the rig sped down the avenue toward Sixth and Vine where a horse fell. No injuries were reported to the other occupants.
Last evening the graduating class ’62 was entertained at Judge Sullivan’s residence by Misses Reelah Miner Gladys Sellivens Elizabeth Faber and Kathryn Wird ham. Teachers attended except Prof Htricklardd. The party featured social conversation games and guessing contests despite heavy rain.
The Union Ledger notes the tragic death of George W Wilson after being kicked by a horse last Friday night in Thurston County. He died Saturday morning after being thrown and injured. funeral held at his residence Sunday afternoon with many friends and relatives in attendance. Born September 7 1851 in Warren County Iowa, he lived nearby before moving to Thurston County four years ago. Relatives include Mrs J F Banning Mrs I P Siean and brothers Thomas Robert James Wilson. Local residents express deep sympathy.
In Happy Hollow a home party at Louis Abl's led to a fight after beer gave way to wine. Mike Preis and Charles Sitzman were injured minorly, while Fred Voghtman and Louis Abl were less harmed. Warrants issued for four. three plead guilty to being drunk with fines around 15 dollars each. Voghtman pleads not guilty with trial set for tomorrow at 2 o'clock.
From the old White Elephant rocks August, an out-of-date eyesore has become an up-to-date store room with the upper level converted into desirable dwelling apartments. The project is praised as the sort of enterprise fueling urban progress and growth.
A Neb rka City News item reports a Plattsmouth resident appealing to popular young women to emulate another young woman in the town. He notes men have made the city home and caused unrest, though he will not reveal his success. He adds Jane will explain.
At nine o clock the ceremony took place at the Bohemian Holy Church with Frank Tiatinsky as groom and Miss Jannie Sedioes as bride. Father Hendtk performed the rites and the couple later posed for photographs at WW Soper studio. The Jouresel wishes them a happy life together.
Early Tuesday morning the Journal reports twin baby boys arrived at the home of Mr and Mrs W S Jean. The mother and infants are said to be doing nicely and Lilly rejoiced greatly upon hearing the news. The Journal extends congratulations to the Jean family and wishes the twins long and prosperous lives.

L Sk 'pton of Union admitted he is married to Nina Lynde, a Union woman, after being joked about it for months. The couple wed in Council Bluffs, Iowa, on March 17. The Journal and county friends extend best wishes for their future.
The Red Sox defeated Townsend Gun Club four to two on the local grounds last Saturday with the ninth inning unfinished. Glenwood High School beat Plattsmouth White Sox in a strong river match, Ik to Plattsmouth’s 1. The Red Sox lost to Storz at Omaha, 10 to 3, while Omaha also beat Plattsmouth 6 to 3. A large crowd gathered in Omaha, with about two hundred locals attending.
Judge Sullivan of Plattsmouth visited the city with his daughter Mrs. Asa Snyder yesterday. He asserts his life pass remains valid and denies reports it was taken, calling such claims false and libelous regarding passes or franks from corporations.
