Gold Star Mothers Mrs Hozina Ripple Mrs Mike Kearns and Mrs Carl Kopischka were honored at the May American Legion Auxiliary gathering at Mrs Otto Lutz home west of Mynard A 130 dessert luncheon opened the meeting which planned wreaths and flags for Oak Hill and nearby cemeteries for Memorial Day Populant projects included a Poppy Day sale and a Junior Auxiliary card party Leadership aims to keep the bell for membership and a Fidac program and officer elections are set for June 16 at the Legion building.

Auto wreck on Highway 75 damages guard rails
Sheriff Joe Mrasek responded around 1 am to a 1927 Buick wreck north of the city near the Grosshans farm. The car, leaving the road after striking guard rails on both sides, was abandoned and towed to R. V. Bryant garage. A fatal accident occurred nearby Friday night.
