Chicken Thief Suspects Nabbed After Rural Raid
Sheriff Joe Mrasek and Deputy E J Doody captured two men believed to be behind a series of chicken thefts from Cass county farms. A car was traced near a schoolyard west of Murray, a fleeing suspect was shot in the leg, and both men John Weis and Charles Wheeler were identified. Both had prior chicken stealing convictions in Iowa and Nebraska penitentiaries.
