Committee chair Larson argued evening attendance would rise as transportation now limits afternoon turnout. The post will keep cemetery wreaths and taps, and may merge speaking with ceremonies there. The Legion also renewed its Junior baseball program, citing last year’s district title and future pro prospects, with Clyde Jackson leading the organizing committee.

Printer Lost Index Finger In Press Accident
Friday's edition reports Andy Robinson a Journal job printer lost most of the index finger of his right hand in a press incident. The accident occurred as he tried to move a pony cylinder press with the motor running. He was taken to St. Joseph's hospital in Omaha for amputation and the Journal notes this is the first major accident in 37 years of ownership by the Bates family.

The brooder house at Otto Pitz’s Livingston road home burned last evening after 8. The fire, likely from the brooder stove, consumed the structure and 250 newly purchased chicks. The blaze spread to threaten a nearby barn but was kept from overall loss by the fire department.

Mrs. Elizabeth Meisinger Dies at 75 in Plattsmouth
Elizabeth Lutz Meisinger, 75, died Friday night at her daughter’s home on Locust street after a prolonged illness. Born October 12, 1863 near Pekin Illinois, she moved to Nebraska in 1882 and married Phillip H. Meisinger. Survived by two daughters Lena and E H Tritseh Carl Meisinger foster son Henry Fornoff two sisters and brothers and eight grandchildren. Funeral at St Pauls Evangelical Church Monday at 2 30 with Sattler funeral home in charge.
