Plattsmouth high school basketball, after a strong season, lost the regional final to Falls City 16 to 11. Despite late rallies, Plattsmouth failed to mount an early deficit and trailed 11 to 3 at halftime. Maynard McCleary and Hiner sparked a late push, but Falls City held on to secure the Southeast Nebraska berth to Lincoln. Avoca defeated Shubert 32 to 10 to win the class B title at Falls City.

Changes on Missouri Pacific cut station service hours
Missouri Pacific trims expenses along its line by eliminating an operator at the local station. Tracks will be removed from 11 p m to 8 a m with no service during that interval, and the station will be closed outside 8 a m to 4 p m. The cashier office is also being eliminated at several stations, including Nebraska City where Roy Fitzpatrick of Weeping Water has served as cashier.

Judge A H Duxbury returned from Falls City to find Des Moines resident Henry W Berry and Atlantic Iowa native Edna Christianson seeking a marriage permit. The judge dismissed the basketball game dispute and the couple married by Rev O G Wichmann, then left for their Iowa home.

Death of Marvin Harris in Ringling Oklahoma
Earl Harris received word that his nephew Marvin Harris died in Ringling Oklahoma from pneumonia after a week of illness. The nine year old son of Mr and Mrs J C Harris passed away Friday and the funeral and interment were held in Ringling on Sunday.

Two funerals were held at St. Johns Catholic church this morning with Rev. George Agius presiding. Charles McGuire Burlington veteran died Friday night and was honored by many old friends from the city Omaha and Gretna. Mrs Dora Kastle’s funeral followed at 10 30 with relatives from Weeping Water in attendance.

Return from Burwell and travel in heavy snow
Detly reports Miss Carolyn Kalasek and Mr. Ray Recek returning from Burwell early this morning. Roads from Burwell to Plattsmouth were badly drifted by snow with blowing conditions hindering driving. They left Burwell Sunday at 10 oclock and reached Plattsmouth Monday at 5. Richard Duane Kalasek is recovering nicely.

Dies in Arizona in 39th year of life
Don Tschkert, a longtime resident and former Plattsmouth Motor Co. worker, died Sunday in Tucson after a yearlong illness from pneumonia. He leaves a daughter Maxine and his mother Mrs. H. J. Zingsheim of Omaha. The body will be sent to Omaha for services at Hoffman Mortuary once arrival time is known.

Young ties yearly top at South Omaha market
Glen Young of Cozad Nebraska tied the year's top beef cattle sale at South Omaha Monday. Forty eight steers averaged 92 pounds per hundredweight selling for 7 dollars. Young also moved thirty six head averaging 1243 pounds at 6.50. Cattle were raised on his Dawson county land. He predicted improving times for feeders.

Boy Suffers Broken Leg In Evening Accident
William Starkjohn, son of Mr and Mrs Henry Starkjohn, broke his right leg Monday night at the family home on west Rock street. He was taken to the garage after an auto ride from the city and walking home when he fell and twisted the limb. The injury was set and he improves but will stay on the inactive list for some time.
