Tragic drowning of Merle Parmele shocks community
Merle Parmele twenty seven year old son of Mr and Mrs Q K Parmele drowned while swimming at Sage farm across the Missouri river in Iowa. James Jones witnessed the accident and attempts to save him failed. The body was recovered about twenty five minutes after disappearance and returned to Marble street home for burial at Oak Hill Cemetery Tuesday at 2 PM.

Runaway Accident at Stock Yards Injures Fleischman
