The funeral for Merle Parmele was held from his Marble street home with Elder Case of Omaha presiding. A quartet sang hymns as friends mourned the sudden drowning death at Sage farm in Mills county Iowa. He was buried at Oak Hill cemetery beside family members.

West of Plattsmouth along Four Mile and Eight Mile creeks heavy two day rains damaged roads and six bridges. Large bridges over Four Mile and Eight Mile creeks were swept away and culverts washed out. Floodwaters reached farmyards and sheds near Kaffenberger. a log dammed the Eight Mile bridge on the Louisville road.

Death of J H Meisinger Rural Leader in Cass County
Obituary notes the sudden heart attack death of J H Meisinger at his Cedar Creek area home. Born 1844 in Germany, he immigrated as a child, settled in Pekin Illinois, then Cass County Nebraska, married Catherine Saal in 1868, and helped develop Cedar Creek area farms with his seven surviving brothers. Funeral at Glendale church near Cedar Creek scheduled for 3 p.m. with a 2 p.m. processional from his home.
