Children’s Day Programs Observed In Local Churches
Sunday morning services in Methodist and St. Pauls churches featured Sunday school programs of music and speaking. Floral decorations adorned both venues. At St Pauls, Mrs. Freda Stibal and Mrs. Lorine Urish led with teachers assisting. A pageant themed Building a Christian Neighborhood highlighted the golden rule and community citizenship. Two baptisms were performed, with Jon Schuetz and Benni Rae Speck receiving the blessing. godparents named for Jon and Benni. At the Methodist church, departmental programs included babies to juniors with recitals and songs, under Mrs Blanche Potter and others, with funds collected for the church educational fund.

District Judge W W Wilson reversed the county court ruling on appointing William H Schmidtman as administrator of the late C Lawrence Stull estate and remanded for further action. Seven heirs backed Frank E Vallery while Ira Stull urged Searl S Davis, leaving no consensus and Schmidtman had been named with Carl D Ganz acting as attorney. Rev. Edwin G. Sloan pastor of First Presbyterian Belle Vernon Pa received the Master of Theology from the Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Omaha Neb. His thesis was The Historicity of the Johannine Doctrine of the Logos. He earned earlier A B D from Monmouth College Illinois and B Th in 1933 35. He heads the Belle Vernon Ministerial Union and the Daily Vacation Bible school with 300 students.

Airplane Forced Down In Storm Near Manley
Two unidentified young men traveling from Detroit to Lincoln in a two passenger biplane crashed in a pasture at the Herman Rauth farm near Manley during a severe wind and rain storm. The craft was badly damaged and towed to Lincoln for repair. the occupants escaped with only bruises despite the landing mishap.

Father Dies in Clay Center Manley Family Attends Funeral
