Mary Lucille Thurtle and Charles G Nowacek wed at Lincoln St Marys Cathedral in a ceremony attended by 125 guests. Rev A J Kraemer officiated with J Norman Richards organist and Lyle De Moss singing Ave Maria and Mendelssohn music. The bride wore white silk net over satin with Valenciennes lace and a silk tulle veil. Miss Virginia Thurtle was maid of honor and Florence Nowacek and Mrs Elmer Means were bridesmaids. A breakfast for forty relatives followed at the Hotel Cornhusker and a reception at 135% Plum Street. Postnuptial home in Minneapolis after June 20.

Miss Georgia White deputy register of deeds returned home Thursday after a pleasant west coast trip visiting Los Angeles Long Beach and San Francisco. She met old Plattsmouth friends including Judge and Mrs Beeson former County Attorney Calvin H Taylor and Myrtle Sander Rogers. In Long Beach she stayed with Mr and Mrs Fred G Egenberger. In San Francisco she toured the Golden Gate Bridge.

Carl Chriswisser owner of the Wimpy Inn is recovering from a minor wrist operation performed Friday in Omaha. The procedure removed a bone growth that had caused increasing trouble since an on site injury during grounds work. He can be around but cannot resume normal duties for some time.

Elmwood town marshal William Long killed in water plant
William Long Elmwood town marshal and water plant custodian was found dead in the plant engine room after his foot was caught in a rope and dragged into a revolving shaft. He leaves a widow and three sons Merle Earl Virgil and Nevada. The death occurred on a twin brothers birthday anniversary.

He joined in 1911 as an apprentice, rose to assistant foreman in the coach shop, then moved to BREX. He will oversee the coach department and handling of coaches on arrival. Free Movie Night Promotes TB Awareness in Plattsmouth
The American Legion Auxiliary hosted a Wednesday program with 130 children at a matinee and nearly 190 parents in the evening. A Mickey Mouse film and a Zeppelin crash feature were shown along with a TB health story about an ordinary family and its recovery. Floyd Marlow supplied the films free of charge. future plans include skin tests for tuberculosis.
