The year end Legion Auxiliary gathering at the Legion Community Building drew many guests including Dr. and Mrs. G. I. Taylor. The Fidac program featured Roumanian numbers with children performers, a Roumanian dance, and a talk by W. O. Samuelson on peace through friendship. The evening ended with dancing as the group praised Mrs. Kieck for organizing the event.

Death of Mrs. Dorothea Ruge a Murdock Pioneer
Dorothea Ruge 90 years old died June 7 at son August Ruge’s home near Murdock after a life of civic and religious work. Born Dorothea Schlaphoff in Telmar Germany on April 24 1849 she married Fred Ruge March 30 1871 and lived in the Murdock area most of her life. She leaves son August and wife two grandchildren Daniel and Coretta Ruge and other relatives.

Death of Young Boy in Omaha Hospital
Lee Capper 14 son of Mrs Cleo Capper of this city died at Methodist hospital Omaha a few hours after an appendectomy. The operation began early in the morning and his condition worsened until about 10 o clock. The body was sent to Sattler funeral home for funeral arrangements.

Texas Visitors Return to El Paso After West Coast Trip

Death of Anna Hofacker After a Long Illness
Anna Hofacker 22 died at 6 45 PM after a long illness from lung complications. Daughter of Carl and wife, she had lived in Plattsmouth after leaving Cedar Creek and stayed in Waverly with a friend. Farms not planting wheat for harvest in any of 1927 1958 or 1939 receive a zero allotment unless an owner or operator requests in person to the county committee of the Agricultural Conservation Association. Richard Cole a Plattsmouth high school graduate of 1928 was named one of six outstanding youths in the 4 H Club Week at the agricultural college campus in Lincoln. He earned an invitation to the Seward conservation camp and was honored for his corn club success in Cass county. The week featured tours, lectures, a glee club concert, radio interviews, and a cattle loss prevention demonstration as 4 H members from 71 counties attended with 185 free trips awarded.
