Local Trucker Weber Confronts Omaha Pickets Twice
Joe Weber, a Plattsmouth trucker, faced picket resistance at Omaha on Monday morning and again in the afternoon. After avoiding early attempts to block his truck with a pistol in the morning, he entered Plattsmouth with perishable goods. In the afternoon, pickets halted his load and a scuffle occurred, leaving Weber briefly detained before deputy sheriffs released him and ordered the truck onto the highway toward Plattsmouth. The return trip via Louisville was uneventful.
