Death Comes to Mrs W T Richardson at Mynard
Mrs. W T Richardson 62 a Cass County resident died suddenly at her Mynard home after heart trouble worsened. Born Kate M Robbins in Ohio June 5 1867 she moved to Nebraska as a girl and married William T Richardson in 1890. Five children were born. two daughters survive along with the husband. The United Brethren church member was active in Mynard church and local societies.

The Sunday school class of high school girls led by Mrs. E. H. Wescott held a birthday party at Sunnyside. Cool weather moved the picnic indoors at the home, where several hours of social time and a luncheon brought pleasure and merriment to all attendees.

St John’s Parochial School Holds Year End Picnic
St John’s parochial school hosts a country club picnic today with many pupils and some parents in attendance. The newly formed Parent-Teacher Association organized the dinner and a large noon meal for attendees. An afternoon program features contests and sports including a double header baseball game refereed by Dr C M Gradeville.

Last evening at Milford Miss Mildred Foster a Murdock schoolteacher wed Rev. Hugh A. Norenberg pastor of the Calahan Evangelical church of Murdock. The ceremony was at the bride’s parents home with friends from Murdock attending. Mrs. Foster has taught in Cass county for five years and is highly regarded. Rev. Norenberg has led the Calahan church for three years and is well respected. The couple will reside in Murdock with many local well wishes.

Falter Family to Seek Further Treatment for Mrs Falter
Mr and Mrs J P Falter recently visited their son George H Falter and family in Kansas City and returned home with George accompanying them. Mrs Falter, not in robust health, was observed by specialists in Kansas City and will travel to Omaha to enter Methodist hospital for observation and treatment by Dr C R Kennedy.

Wallace Caswell of Cherokee was elected governor of the Nineteenth district Rotary International covering Nebraska South Dakota and western Iowa. The Omaha convention drew 770 attendees including 495 Rotarians and 275 Rotary Anns with 58 of 63 clubs sending delegates.

College Expedition Bus Tour Through Plattsmouth

Omaha Youthful Firebug Captured Near Platte River
Sebastian Miletti, 18, an Omaha firebug who escaped a week earlier, was captured near the Platte River bridge after holding officers at bay in waist-deep water. He was taken to Cass county jail after a boat pursuit and exposure, telling officers he does not want to return to an asylum and intends to stay away from fires.

Henry L. Smith 23, private in Company C Seventeenth Infantry at Fort Crook, died 4:20 a.m. Friday from a gunshot wound received while scoring targets on the rifle range. An accidental shooting is suspected as a board of inquiry is formed. his brother John W. Smith was present. Smith hailed from Harrisburg Arkansas and came to Fort Crook last November.

Auto Crashes at Louisville Road Intersection End in Damaged Cars
Two Friday afternoon accidents at the Louisville road intersection with highway 75 left Dr. O. Sandin and the Frank Rebal family with minor injuries. The Sandin vehicle veered into a ditch after a northbound collision, while a southbound Ford overturned the Rebal Chevrolet, tearing the top and damaging fenders and wheels. Passersby and Omaha motorists helped transport the Rebal family to Plattsmouth for examination.

City Honors Grateful Nation Heroes at Memorial Observance
The community paused business to pay tribute to veterans of the Revolution, War of 1812, Texas conflict, Civil War, Spanish-American War, and World War I. Oak Hill Cemetery gleamed with flowers as American Legion, Women’s Relief Corps, and Auxiliary members laid wreaths and the W R C conducted rites. Local veterans and families heard songs from war years, read names of surviving Civil War veterans, and heard addresses including If Ye Break Faith and Lincoln’s Gettysburg.
