A gang struck Elmwood and Avoca with several storefronts entered after 4 am. At Elmwood the Green and Tyson drug stores were hit, along with the Union Lumber Co. yard, Backmeyer station, Skeen harness shop, and damage to the William garage safe. Avoca saw five shops broken into, with George Pollard’s store hit hardest for silk hose and apparel. Sheriff Reed investigated as Omaha or Lincoln roots were suspected.

Mrs Max Vallery Undergoes Operation at Clarkson Hospital
From Mondas the report says Mrs Max Vallery who had not been in good health for some time became so serious last week that she was awakened to Clarkson hospital in Omaha where she was operated on. The case remains very serious though the patient is improving. Mr Vallery has stayed at the hospital part of the time making trips from the farm.

Death Comes to Mrs Lester Burrows Sunday
Mrs Lester G Burrows age fifty one died at her north Lincoln home after a months illness from cancer. She was born Louise Guthmann in Plattsmouth May 28 1887 and lived in the city most of her life. Surviving are husband Lester G Burrows two brothers Edward and Will Guthmann and two sisters Mrs H H Goos and Mrs Ida Postlewaite. Her parents preceded her in death.

Standard Oil Station Held Up on Seventh and Vine
A lone gunman robbed the Standard Oil filling station at Seventh and Vine last evening at 6:30, taking between 25 and 35 dollars from the register while threatening clerk Walter Fulton. The bandit, about 25, five feet four inches, with a sheep skin coat and prominent teeth, escaped south toward Seventh Street. Omaha police were notified with no immediate results.

Truck Crash Damages Local Driver’s Load at South Omaha
At South Omaha stock yards Joe Mrasek and son in law William Lintner were unloading hogs when a larger truck backed into Mrasek’s vehicle causing severe damage.
