The Parmele theatre filled to capacity for the social workers sponsored production of Corporal Eagen a wartime comedy directed by Miss Lucille Smith. Raymond Cook and Harrison L. Gayer led a strong cast with an extensive chorus of sailors and young women. The show featured a patriotic pageant My Dream of the Big Parade and a colorful minstrel segment with Luke L. Wiles and others. An encore performance was planned for the evening with tickets selling fast.

Overdose Suspect Found With Liquor Fined 100
Ross Shopshire was apprehended in Weeping Water after an apparent alcohol overdose. A bottle of liquor found on his person was turned over to Constable Evoboda. County Attorney W G Kieck filed possession charges. Shopshire pleaded guilty and was fined 100 dollars plus costs by Judge A H Duxbury.
