Robert Troop Dies Veteran Resident of Plattsmouth
Robert Troop long time Plattsmouth resident and Civil War veteran died after a long life of farming and business activity. Born February 25 1842 in Ireland he came to the United States as an infant and served in Co E 20th Iowa before capture and imprisonment in Texas. He married Lois Moore in Davenport November 13 1870 and later moved to Nebraska. Survived by widow and extended Troop family several nieces nephews and siblings.

Succumbs to injuries from runaway near Norfolk
George Barr reports his brother Earl Barr aged 50 died at University hospital in Omaha after twenty five days of treatment for severe injuries from a Norfolk Nebraska runaway. Fractures of the teeth hip arm jaw and a later bout of diphtheria led to his death. He was born in Pennsylvania and lived most his life in Plattsmouth. Survived by brother George Barr of Plattsmouth and sister Mrs John Lone of Ashland.

Lincoln man pleads guilty to fraudulent check
This morning C. J. Quinn of Lincoln was arraigned in county court on passing a fraudulent check on Forest Rhodes at a tire shop on Chicago avenue. He pled guilty, paid the check, and was fined five dollars plus the costs of prosecution.

The funeral for Robert Troop, longtime Cass county resident and Civil War veteran, occurred Tuesday at the family Granite Street home. Rev. H. G. McClusky led services with the Presbyterian quartet performing Abide With Me and Rock of Ages. Oak Hill Cemetery graveside rites followed, with American Legion Post members serving as pallbearers.
