Alvin Smock Burned When Car Catches Fire On Rural Road
Alvin Smock narrowly escaped serious injury when his car burned on a gravel road north of the city after gas trouble and attempting to drain the line. He tore off the blazing blouse, burning his hands and scorching his face, and was taken to Dr. W. S. Eaton for treatment.

Have Beautiful Banner From Thursday's Daily
The new Legion Auxiliary banner was used at yesterday's convention after many hours of handiwork by Mrs Adelaide Boynton, unit chaplain and seamstress, aided by other members. Materials cost little, with hand sewn emblems matching commercial banners, and jointed gilded poles will soon be added for display during sessions and the banquet. Blue caps worn by unit members at the convention were also handmade with materials costing about 15 cents each.
