Saturday drew many country district residents to the city for weekend shopping. Stores stayed busy through afternoon and evening, marking one of the best trading days since the holidays. Return of Missouri River Engineer Kriskey Jr

Shorthand Contest Entrants From Falls City Area
The advanced shorthand class of the local high school joined about twelve students at Nebraska City last week to compete in the southeast Nebraska commercial contest. The local class placed fourth. Falls City earned the top award. Fire Belts Ritz Booth as Film Rolls Burst Into Flames
A film roll in the Ritz theatre projection booth caught fire during the Wednesday show. One reel of the feature They Just Had to Get Married and a comedy were destroyed. The fire was confined by a fireproof booth and extinguished by firefighters. Owner Mr. Griffin suffered a severe burn on his right hand while closing the booth. Cleaning up is expected to finish for a planned reopening Thursday or Friday.

More Skiffs Missing Near Burlington Bridge
The Burlington bridge landing reports ongoing skiff thefts. Arrest of William Mitchell for liquor influence and possession
