The 1981 82 Plattsmouth alumni defeated the present high school team 35 to 20 in southeastern Nebraska. Rummel Arn Forbes led the veterans with multiple baskets while the high school battled early, then rallied late as every player scored. Referee was Robert Fitch.

Henry Blarshell of Council Bluffs a former Flaitemouth high school graduate now at Creighton university received the Jefferson-Mullicn award for the best student essay. The title was The Jefferson Code and the prize is 25 dollars. He is the son of Mr and Mrs D Marshall of Council Bluffs and brother of Mrs Justus Lilie. He graduated from the local high school in 1928.
