Folkdances in Costume Highlight Village Kirmess

Over four hundred attended Saturday's Kirmess in the Village Hall. Performances included Irish jig, Highland fling, Dutch Dance, Spanish Gypsy, French Pierre Pierrot, minuet Japanese dance, Italian tarantella, and vocal solos by Mr. Child. The event netted one hundred fifty dollars for the Village Club charitable fund.

Evans Wios Medal Handicap Winners Emerge

Mr. Evans Mason D. Evans won the Tin Whistles special medal play handicap with a score of seventy under an eighteen handicap. E. G. Chandlee finished second with a seventy two and C. F. Garfield placed third with a seventy three.

Selected Score Competition crowns Silver Foils winners

Mr. Leonard Tufts and Miss Gwendolyn Cummings present prizes for the Silver Foils event with many winners named. Top finishers include Mrs. H L Burrage first at 47 and Mrs. Spencer Waters second at 49, followed by a string of prize recipients by Mrs. Check, Mrs. Lord, Mrs. Waterhouse, and others. A match play trophy phase features cuts like Miss Helmer over Van Ostrand 2 and 1, and Cummings over King 4 and 3, with several 4 to 3 or similar results. A putting contest concludes with Helmer and Miss Blanche as winners after a 23 and 24 stroke round respectively.

L L Penhurst Gatehe at Village Club Fete Concludes

LL Penhurst Gathe concluded a village social at the Village Club with guests and helpers listed including Mmes. Jenks, Barney Check Bell Gardner Banes Lord Ellison and Misses Priest Cummings Fownes Edith Barnett. The Carolina orchestra provided music while Bright bunting and pines colored the setting. Proceeds added to the Village Club fund for next year’s charitable plans and expanded outreach.

Daly Leads Week's Trap Handicap At Forty

Dr. W C Daly shot with an allowance of forty and led the weekly trap shooting handicap scoring ninety seven. F T Sage with a thirty handicap took second with ninety three and A I Osleander with forty was third at ninety one.
