Whittemore and Fownes Lead St Valentine Qualifiers
Parker W. Whittemore of Brookline and Henry C. Fownes of Oakmont led the St. Valentine tournament qualification with scores of 75 and 79 among 157 entrants. J. W. Watson of Merion posted 81, F. A. Martin of Ekwanok and W. H. Faust of Buffalo tied at 82, while four players at 90 included Rev. T. A. Cheatham and others after a Pinehurst system round on Number 2 course.
