Flags and feats mark the Drakes bold naval past
A historic flag tied to Captain Jones and the Bon Homme Richard recalls the 1779 victory over Serapis off Flamborough Head. The piece traces the flag’s journey from thirteen stars to forty five states and highlights Dickinson School’s ownership, commemorations, and recent school improvements. It notes the hilltop site near Smoke, new buildings, planned laundry facilities, water supply upgrades, and gifts from John H. Converse and Mrs. L. E. Holden.
