Hamilton Wins Gross Trophy In Annual Handicap Tourney
In a record field the tournament featured a first cup playoff between E Cameron of Baltusrol and A P K James of London, Cameron prevailing. L A Hamilton of Englewood won the gold medal for best gross score with 84, three strokes ahead of James. Other top finishers included W K Wood for amateur champion with 88, I E Wardwell and Edwin A Freeman tied for fourth at 89, while Morse, Freeman, and Becker posted 90s and 92 respectively. A heavy wind skewed scores as putting greens proved difficult.
