Dickinson Colored School opens new location with bell and flag
The Dickinson Colored School marked a milestone with a formal bell acceptance and flag-raising ceremony. Principal Persons and Resident General Manager I B Cotter outlined plans to use the site as a nucleus for laundry work, manual training, cooking and agriculture, inviting village guests and supporters to join in the civic education effort. Gen R J Hall explained the flag’s history and duties, emphasizing reverence and citizenship as students watched the flag rise to the peak.
