John Springer born December 2 1839 near Fairmont West Virginia died December 3 1923 at his daughter Mrs John B Hale’s home in Brewersville Indiana aged 84 years 1 day He was the son of Dennis and Jane Springer last of eleven children He moved to Indiana in 1894 with his surviving daughter and spent his life near Springport Except the last three years he lived with his wife Sarah Shipley Veach who died less than three weeks before him He had been ill for years due to a heart leak He was a longtime member of the Christian Church at Springport He leaves one daughter Mrs John B Hale one step son Herbert Veach three grandchildren Edith Harold Hale and Mrs Martha Schuyler and one great granddaughter Betty June Schuyler
