Marion County Board of Supervisors approves 1952 road program

The Marion County Board of Supervisors met in the District Court Room on March 20 1982 at 10 00 am with a full attendance. They approved the 1952 Secondary Road Construction Program and allocated funds from 65 percent anticipated income to project disbursements and prepared a quit claim deed settlement for parcels in Tracy and North Pella. The meeting included detailed accounts presented for judge, sheriff, and county offices and adjourned at 2 10 pm with minutes approved.

Release of Lime Contract by Marion County Board of Supervisors

Marion County Iowa Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present and approved a Release and Cancellation of the lime contract from August 26, 1988 between Marion County and Wm M Fry and Marie Fry. The contract described land in Section 36 Township 75 North Range 19 West containing 80 acres. The release was executed April 21, 1952 before Notary E Raymond Mick. The session also authorized publication notices for the Auditor’s Annual Financial report and listed various expenses and payroll items for the poor relief program.

Knoxville man killed rattlesnake on farm near Attica

Frank Avery of Avery Hardware spooked while mushroom hunting on the Avery farm southeast of Attica. He heard a hiss and saw a large five foot rattler with thirteen rattles and a button. He used a stick to kill the snake about an hour after the encounter.
