Strand talkies week brings praised performances in Pella
In Pella at the Strand theatre patrons praised the talking pictures week with Joan Crawford Untamed causing some disappointment on opening night. The featured No, No, Nanette presented a complex plot with music and dance, including a married producer drawn into a scheme, a love interest, and a moral ending. The production impressed locals, marking many first theatre experiences with talking pictures and earning praise for quality and staging.
