Week of Prayer Observed by West Park Baptist Church
West Park Baptist Church observed the Week of Prayer for Home Missions March 7 to 14 sponsored by the Baptist Women. The $6,000,000 goal in the Southern Baptist Convention funds missions in the United States Panama and Cuba with a theme Sharing With One or One Thousand. The week featured daily study programs led by Mrs. L A Pattillo Mrs. C V Young Mrs. L G Worsham and others plus a Sunday night musical program Proclaiming His Name with a Song led by Charles Pattillo and a solo He Lives by Clyde Chasteen. Rev Pattillo attended a Bible Conference in Dallas leaving Rev Chasteen to preach.

Awards And Honors Highlight Western District Convention
The Thirty-Fifth Annual Western District Convention in Monahans honored Pioneer Clubs and Clubwomen. Mrs. Philip Robbins presided as Texas Federation of Women’s Clubs President Mrs. Carol Carpenter spoke, presenting Senior and Junior awards to Mrs. Joe Massey and Mrs. Lanny Norris. District officers announced Pioneer Club status for thirteen clubs, and Mrs. R. S. McCracken received a TBWC bronze plaque honor. The event featured music by a Grandfalls Royalty High School group and remarks by Ross Rucker of KVKM Radio.
