Two Story Dugout Moves to Tech Grounds at Texas Tech
A two story dugout dating from the turn of the century was moved to Ranch Headquarters at The Museum of Texas Tech University. Formerly five miles north of Whiteface in western Hockley County, it served as a line camp for Col. C C Slaughter’s Lazy S Ranch until 1921. Built near 1901, the structure now sits on 12 acres within a 76 acre site and will form part of an outdoor living museum of ranch life.
