Locomotive Renovated for Fort Worth Dallas Trips

The 610 Historical Foundation in Fort Worth is restoring a 1926 Lima built steam locomotive, number 610, destined to run excursion trips on Texas & Pacific tracks between Fort Worth and Dallas. The engine, awaiting running-gear work at Santa Fe shops in Cleburne and an ICC inspection, is the sole survivor of 70 Lima locomotives built for T&P. It will pull three cars including a diner lounge and a mahogany velvet Pullman, with Mexico-stored cars. When operational it may be the largest steam locomotive in service in the country.
