Oil Roundup Gulf shuts in Ellenburger Fusselman gas unit
Gulf Oil Corp halted production at No 1 American Quasar Monroe Gas Unit in Ward County after a 12 hour test on the Fusselman interval yielded 6.2 to 13.2 million cu ft daily through a 3/4 inch choke at depths of 17 397 to 17 461 feet following 3 000 gallons of acid. prior test flowed 2.963 to 2.869 million cf per day at greater depths with 64 700 gallons of acid. Location is six miles north of the Barstow Fusselman field with ongoing activity nearby. Atlantic Richfield Co staked No 1 Worsham in Reeves County as a 21 500-120t Ellenburger gas wildcat near the Barstow field and Adobe No 4 Barstow Unit with Ellenburger Fusselman and Devonia horizons. Location is seven miles southeast of Barstow.
