New Uses For Cotton Would Use Surplus
COLLEGE STATION June 1 Use of cotton bags for 12 percent of the 1937 fertilizer sale accounted for 19 9005 bales of cotton. Cotton bagging 232 packages for cotton sales introduced last year is superior to jute and sisal bagging. Cotton rope for ties and cotton patches would not only use up around 206 086 bales annually but also reduce the gross weight per bale by 2 pounds, saving about 1 million dollars a year in freight and handling. Extension Service experts say.
