Roosevelt Lake Horse Pasture area to close for season
The Horse Pasture Recreation Area on the Tonto Arm of Roosevelt Lake will close to camping picnicking and motor vehicles from Friday through February 15. The area serves as a feeding resting site for hundreds of wintering geese and has been closed annually since 1967 to protect the habitat. Anglers Inn and Cholla Bay will remain open and hunters are reminded Roosevelt Lake Wildlife Refuge is closed to shooting from November 15 to February 15 per state game laws.
