Conlan's Scholar Ted Meredith Returns From DC Trip
Ted Meredith of Young High School completed an all expense paid study trip to Washington, D.C. as a 1975 Congressional Scholar under Congressman John B. Conlan. Local donations funded the scholarship with Nolan Blake and several Payson and Young supporters listed as benefactors.

Bonita Creek Unit II plat approved by Gila County panel
Gila County Planning and Zoning Commission approved the final plat for the Bonita Creek Unit II subdivision located 17 miles northeast of Payson. The plat goes to the Board of Supervisors for final approval. Whispering Pines HOA seeks zoning to bar mobile and modular homes and must gather 51 percent owner support. The commission also reaffirmed nonparticipation in the Flood Insurance Program for now due to cost and code-cadence hurdles.
