Sunshine Club holds meeting in Bear Creek

The Sunshine Club met with Mrs. Doyle Robertson on Thursday with all members present. Visitors included Mrs. Thelma Sapp Mrs. Pelle Thomas Mrs. June Revis and Mrs. Betty Jones. Refreshments were sandwiches fruit salad and iced tea.

Young Hogs Use Feeds Efficiently for Quick Market Readiness

University of Illinois extension specialist H. G. Russell says younger hogs convert feed to weight more efficiently than older hogs. He recommends 16 percent protein from weaning to 75 pounds, then 14 to 15 percent, with a ration of 300 pounds shelled corn 100 pounds oats and 100 pounds 40 percent protein supplement. Open self-feeders for about one opening per four pigs.
